Happy Birthday Irene Dunne

December 20, 1898-September 4, 1990

Happy Birthday to the beautiful Irene Dunne. Irene has been described as the "best actress" never to have won an Academy Award. She was nominated five times during her career for movies Cimarron, The Awful Truth, I Remember Mama, Theodora Goes Wild and Love Affair. My favorite movie is The Awful Truth starring the very handsome Cary Grant. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to watch this amazing actress and fall in love with her again and again each and every time we see one of her films. Irene Dunne, I hope your celebrating in style! RIP, beautiful angel.

    Irene was an INCREDIBLE talent, and VERY underrated... 'The Awful Truth' was classic...probably one of the best screwballs EVAH...of course, I always have this 'Ginger slant' when watching a 30's screwball, as to how Ginger would have been in it...and of course with Cary in this one, that makes it more 'skewed' in my viewing... BUT, having said that, Irene was perfect for it...
    Hope you and yours have a memorable Christmas, Wi!!!
