Today is a cold day yet I'm getting started on some early Spring cleaning. Starting tomorrow it looks as if we will have at least 5 days of warmer weather. I am thankful we had a decent winter, but I have to tell you I'm looking forward to it.
I always thought having this 2 story dream house of mine would be fabulous. While it is in many ways, when it comes to cleaning it can be a bit overwhelming.
I have 4 kids (yes that includes my husband) and they all seem to have amnesia when it comes to remembering how to pick up after themselves and what a hamper is really for. My two little monkeys like to run around and leave toys and their mess everywhere and it seems to always find my couch cover or clean floor. Not to mention please guys, aim aim aim... My teenage daughter seems to think her bedroom floor is a closet and I get that famous roll of the eyes with any mention of her doing chores. My husband still can't get the hint the garbage bag is waiting for him by the door for a reason and clearly that rinsing a dish and putting it into a dishwasher only takes 30 seconds.
Being a full time Mom is a huge job. Although I'm very lucky I get to stay home and be with my children it doesn't mean I enjoy every aspect of it. I hate dishes and laundry. It seems when I finally get ahead there is a new pile waiting for me.
I dream of the days when I can twinkle my nose like Bewitched and everything is done for me. But until then I have this huge job to do myself and I am going full throttle at it. Ready, set go....I'm on my way...Wish me luck. Things could get scary

I have PILES of laundry somehow- and it's only the two of us at the Lemondrop house. Where do the piles come from?
ReplyDeleteBest of luck on the cleaning!

I am with you! Cleaning is so overwhelming. I can say usually my two story one floor is clean and the other hides what needs to be put away. Laundry don't get me started and the dishwasher - haha. I think only I know where it is. When you figure out the bewitch trick please share!
ReplyDeleteoh the joys of being the cleaning lady...now that my kids are grown..hubby helps out all the time...where was he when I was chasing kids too???LOL...my 21 year old daughter has the same closet...all over her floor...and the laundry room

No more stress of cleaning. I receive tweets and email updates throughout the day. I feel like finally someone is on my side with this cleaning process. Since I guess I am the only one that messes things up, HA!
I am starting spring cleaning too. It's such a huge job :-( I'd take those Bewitched powers any day!

It has been so cold and nasty this winter here in SC! I cannot wait to open windows and do the spring cleaning, can't be long now. Kerrie
ReplyDeleteLet me just say that thank GOD men don't read women's blogs...boy are they usless when it comes to cleaning. My husband is worse than my kids...at least they can be trained and THREATENED. Well I told him my 2 story house and 6 people worth of laundry was overwelming; he hired a maid. Gotta love Jewish men. The lazyist lot out there.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE spring! It means my Birthday is approaching : )

Sounds like you need me. I'm the Mister Mom around here. I enjoy cleaning, vacuuming and laundry. The caveat is that I have to be. The rest of the family here sounds like your husband. My gang won't pick up anything or help with anything unless they are specifically told. They would rather leave it there and step over it. If I didn't clean our house, it would never get cleaned.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Can you come help me lol?? I'm exhausted!!
