Hallelujah it's Friday
OH MY! Is it really here? The weekend? This has been one of the longest weeks I have ever lived through. I never thought it would end. From sleepless nights because I've been sick and my poor children are sick, doctors visits, long days and stressful times. It's been difficult. Last night around 1 am I checked on one of my twin boys who is five and found a bunch of dry blood all on his mouth and pillow/pajamas. I freaked. We went to the ER and didn't leave until 5 am this morning. I was so afraid. But luckily his chest x-ray was good. He has Bronchitas and is pretty sick but I'm so relieved it was not more serious. I want him better now. I hate to see my children suffer and would do anything to take their pain away. It's been a horrible winter for us all and I really hope warmer weather comes soon. Well I'm glad it's finally here and I hope we can have no problems and enjoy it. It always seems to go so fast. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.xoxo

Summer Swingtime with Fred & Ginger
I am SO excited. I love the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies. My daughter also. She's 14 and a major classic movie buff like myself. Her idol is Ginger Rogers. Since moving from California to Texas I took her away from a lot of that Hollywood history she craves so badly. They are constantly showing their movies in theatres around the Los Angeles area.
I really wanted to make this possible for her so I looked hours and hours online around the Texas area but had no luck. Until I found the Miller Outdoor Theatre here in Houston. They have a ton of different music performances, plays, concerts and some movies. So last year I decided to take the chance and write the director and ask her if she ever had classic movie showings. I mentioned Ginger Rogers as a favorite and although they didn't show many she told me she would consider my suggestions for the new 2010 season.
So imagine my excitment when she emailed me last week and told me she had a night opening in June, and she wanted to show a Fred and Ginger movie. She asked me what my favorite one was and me and my daughter chose Swingtime. When I told my daughter she was so excited and smiled from ear to ear. This was her dream to be able to sit in a theatre setting and see this wonderful movie. And now I had made it possible for her. I told her to remember this when she decided to get snotty with me:-) but all kidding aside, it's going to be an awesome night! I can't wait!

A date with Holly Golightly
She is sophisticated, independent, quirky, fun and lovable. She is Holly Golightly. She is my kind of girl.A free spirit who loves to live her life the way she wants. She is complicated yet there is something very vunerable about her and we can relate. She loves to sing and she loves to shop at Tiffany's. Who doesn't appreciate that?Played by the beautiful Audrey Hepburn, this is truly a classic. I would have loved to see this film in a theatre, but it came out way before I was born. Growing up in California, they have several classic movie screenings in theatres around the state. I was never able to attend any and now that I live in Texas I don’t get the opportunity to see any showings that I truly enjoy from back in the day. Until now.I am so excited to announce there is a theatre here that will be having a showing of Breakfast at Tiffany's on March 7th. It's ladies night and me and my daughter will be going. This is going to be truly amazing and I'm so excited I get to have this experience. This is the first movie I showed her which turned her onto the best era ever. A date night with Holly Golightly will be a memory I will treasure always and forever.

Suffering the sick blues today
Suffering from the sick blues today. My head feels like it's gonna explode. I have a sinus infection and both ears are infected. It's also really hard to take care of my rowdy kids all day when I'm feeling so bad. I would love to crawl back into bed and sleep the entire day. I hope I feel better soon.
My daughter is sick and I'm worried since she suffers from Asthma. We are headed once again to the doctors for her cause she's not getting better. As of today my boys woke up with stuffy noses. I can't wait for winter to be over..Hurry up Springtime!! I want to get over this, but what I want the most is my children to be well. NOW!

My little slice of Rose Heaven
The Antique Rose Emporium. I have posted about it before, but I'm so ready for Spring that I want to revisit it once again. I can't wait to go when the weather is warmer. It's in a quaint little country spot. From the roadside it doesn't seem like much until you enter. There are gardens of flowers you can either purchase or just admire. Some benches and grass to relax upon
It's so peaceful. There is even a little church where weddings are held.I love to take a little picnic lunch and watch the kids play. Then we do a little flower shopping. Come take a quick tour with me.Isn't it beautiful? They even have a graveyard for their broken potteryI love the little statues and buildingsThe roses are beautiful yet I enjoy seeing all the colors of the plants and flowers
The sky is beautiful and you really feel like your in a magical placeAnd make sure you do a little gift shopping before you leave.I hope you enjoyed one of my favorite places. I can't wait to visit my little slice of heaven soon.
