Missing home in the Fall

OK. It's finally Autumn. I grew up in a beautiful California town that had the best seasons throughout the whole year. I use to love the cooler weather, the smell in the air and watching the trees change color. I don't have that now in Texas. It's hot pretty much all year long. And with it still feeling like Summer, it's kind of getting me down a bit and making me miss home more. When I go outside I smell nothing and I feel the heat and humidity. I sometimes sit in my house and look out the window and imagine what this beautiful season felt like. Wishing I could go back home for a while and experience what Autumn feels like again. But I know I can't. I need to just try and focus on taking the kids to the pumpkin patch this weekend. I love to see them pick out their pumpkins. It's just so cute and making memories like this is so important for your kids. Even though your heart is sad. I treasure these times always...

  2. I would miss the seasons too, I think. Here in New York it is cool and clear today. We definitely had the autumn "bite" in the air while the kids waited for the school bus. Hopefully the pumpkin patch will put you in a fall mood!

  5. Fall is definitely in the air here. I hope your trip to the Pumpkin Patch will put you in the Fall mood. Last year I sent boxes of pretty colored autumn leaves to some blogger s who don't have seasonal changes and they loved it. Let me send you a box of pretty leaves. Thank you for your sweet email. Love your pink polka dot background. Have you heard of Pink Saturdays? It's a fun day and you post something pink each Saturday. Although there is not much pink in my house I always see pink when I am on the road and constantly snapping photos. Won't you join us? You don't have to do it every Saturday and you meet tons of new bloggers that way that love vintage just like you do. Visit my blog and see the side bar to sign up. Miles of Smiles ~ Lynn

  6. Hi Winona, you should come visit CT. It is getting so pretty here now!! Why can't you leave Texas? I love the leaves. Your blog is so cute. Loved to see your kids pick out their pumpkins. Ours haven't gotten theirs yet. I only got one pumpkin for the porch, but no Jack~O~Lanterns yet.
